The saying goes when it rains it pours and most of us have felt the downpour of fury yet, fury is not going to solve the problem that remains embedded in some of our hearts. Yes, the lay offs hurt us as a campus community and yes, some of you may feel helpless now but do not let this conquer you.
The last few weeks of school is a crucial time especially for graduating seniors but do not allow pain weigh you down. One thing we all must accept is that we have to go through painful situations in order to grow.
One of the most beautiful things about being human is that we just simply have to accept the circumstances that have been presented to us. By taking the first step of accepting instead of dwelling off the past, closure can take its course. The healing process is neither easy nor is it instantaneous, time will only determine the outcome of where we will stand in the future.
Although, this semester has been deemed one of the most chaotic times at Clark Atlanta University, understand that through it all it is going to make us a better institution.
Use your emotions to fuel you in finishing the semester strong. For the faculty and staff that we have lost to the lay offs, they would want each and every one of us to finish what we started at CAU. We owe it to our faculty, our staff and ourselves but most importantly to our institution to make it to the end. We may be going through a storm at CAU but know that there is a ray of hope at the end.
