Many celebrities are using their star power and influence to reach out and help the people of Haiti. Musical sensation, Lady Gaga is no different. She is also doing her part to aid the victims of the recent tragedy in Haiti.
Although Gaga was unable to take part in the "Hope For Haiti Now" two-hour televised event, she opted to help out by donating all of the concert's proceeds from her Sunday performance at Radio City Music Hall.
Lady Gaga visited the set of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' for an in-depth interview and performance on January 15, 2010. The starlet addressed the importance of supporting the relief effort in Haiti. She recalled her time in New York during 9/11, saying that she, "never felt like anyone understood" what the city was going through. Gaga feels the need to raise awareness to her fans about the necessity of sending aid overseas. She also revealed that all proceeds from her January 24 concert in New York City (both tickets and merchandise sold out), along with all proceeds from any merchandise including Lady Gaga apparel, albums, and posters, purchased on her web site that day, would go to the Haiti relief effort.
Fans are also able to contribute by purchasing a Limited edition Lady Gaga Haitian relief T-shirt, which features an imprint of the cover of Lady Gaga's Album "The Fame Monster" on a white t-shirt, in Haiti's national colors. All proceeds from purchases of this shirt during the entire time its available go directly to help aid the people suffering from this devastating act of nature in Haiti. Fans will be able to purchase merchandise through the pop star's official web site, www.ladygaga.com. The t-shirt is currently available on pre-order status and will begin shipping on February 2, 2010.
